GLO provides quality child care in a Christ-centered environment for children from birth to Kindergarten, during the hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm daily. Professionally trained, competent, caring, and trustworthy staff encourage young children to reach their full potential. Pastoral staff and leadership of First Baptist Church Abilene provide weekly chapel devotions for GLO with supportive learning activities provided by GLO teachers.
Since 1969, GLO Child Care has served the Abilene Community by loving and caring for young children and their families. This center meets all state requirements for licensure earning the Texas Rising Star Accreditation. As provided in Texas Government Code §2308.3155, the Texas Rising Star program is a quality-based child care rating system of child care and early learning programs participating in the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC)'s Child Care Services program.
The new GLO facility will open in early January 2024, in The Hope Center, a ministry of First Baptist Church Abilene. This beautifully renovated structure includes new interiors and furnishings as well as new indoor and outdoor play equipment and areas, dining area, and chapel. Each space was researched and planned to effectively meet physical, social, nutritional, and educational needs of children at each developmental stage.
